My day started differently. I had a lot of things in my which were entirely useless. I felt I need a break from my stupid thinking. So I thought about finding myself in movies. I chose the Crazy Mohan - Kamal Hasan combination which is an example of a laughter riot.

Laughter

Laughter is strong medicine. It draws people together in ways that trigger emotional changes. Laughter strengthens our immune system, boosts mood, diminishes pain, and protects us from the damaging effects of stress. Nothing works faster or more dependably to bring our mind and body back into balance than a good laugh.

Crazy Mohan and Kamal Hassan

Crazy Mohan is highly underrated. He is not just all about wit and sarcasm. His eye for understanding the context and delivering what is required of the scene with very brief exchanges is almost unparalleled (Post 90s till today) Vasool Raja has been the zenith of the combination where they just try to pump humour out of every line spoken, and often not spoken as well.

Vasool Raja MBBS

Vasool Raja MBBS movie is a great remake. Munnabhai is not the epitome of comedy. But it got an endearing touch to it, the ''Jadu -ka jhappi'' or the ''kattipudi-vaithiyam''. The way an outsider like Raja goes in does things which turns out kinda magic inside the Medical school and hospital. The raging sequence with the Gilli song, ''Appadi podu'' is pretty good. The item song at the hospital, ''Cheena Thana'' for cheering the cancer patient Jayasurya, cheers up the frontbenchers. ''Alwarpettai Andava'' is the best of the lot. Though some of the sequences seem to be rushed with tight editing. As always, he does an excellent job in getting the sentiments out with almost the right words even in a laughter riot-like Vasool Raja. Signature scenes. The carrom board sequence with Kaka Radhakrishnan is good.
Prabhu has got a weighty role in the film. He adds emotional weight to the scenes. Crazy as Margabandhu the harassed doctor forced to help Raja out in the exams excels in his scenes. Jayasurya as Zaheer the cancer-stricken patient does his role well. Sneha is good as the romantic lead opposite Kamal. Kamal looks haggard at times but excels in the climax in his emotional scenes. The usual Kamal style of comedy made it popular in PKS. Now, it is taken to the next level through dialogues like Elakaivan, Sambu Mavane, Maargabandhu-Modhal Sandhu, Kalakkitta da Kaapi, Baedhi Baby, Dei doctor/ Night Doctor.

In the end, I got what I needed, Happiness and nice laughter. In this situation, laughter is important. Thanks to Crazy Mohan and Kamal for such a script. These kinds of movies are important to medicine to be taken lockdown, or while locking ourselves in this bad situation. There are a lot of different types of humour from wordplay and self-deprecation to slapstick and dark humour. The way comedies and humour register in our brain can vary, making the neuronal activity in response to it very complex.
