Happy Reading day

  • Post category:Literature
  • Reading time:3 mins read

Reading has been part of my life since the 7th standard. I still remember the argument I had with my dad. I just said to him, “I’m not ready to read those books.” This happened when I was in 6th standard.

No one told me that studying and reading are two different things.

I’m saying to everyone (too sweet people, who are reading this)…

Yes, reading and studying are two different things.

What did it teach to me?

Reading will create joy. Newspapers and magazines are the best ones to introduce ourselves to reading habits. From the 8th standard, newspapers, magazines and books were part of my life. Reading is one of the most important ways of knowing the world around us. Reading influences us. It helps us expand our mind. Importantly, it creates a conversation between the writer and the writer. It helps us learn from the past, the present, and predict the future. They help us learn from the people that have done what we are about to get into. The more we read, the more it increases our writing skills, speaking, and interpersonal skills.

Suggestions

Start with R. K. Narayan, pick Milk Raj Anand, try Sudeep Nagakar, Ravindra Singh. Start with a series for foreign authors. Pick Sidney Sheldon or Jeffery Archer… Slowly find favourite genres and find authors in them.

Little History
