Ravi stopped dead in his tracks. A lone door stood in the middle of the street, bathed in an otherworldly glow. There were no walls, no building, just the door, slightly ajar, as if it had been waiting only for him.
He stepped closer, curiosity tugging harder than fear. Through the narrow gap, he could see a vision that stole his breath: a city of the future. Tall buildings gleamed like glass, and clean, wide roads ran on without end. There was no garbage piled in corners, no scraps of paper drifting in the wind.
Instead, he watched in awe as small, insect-like machines zipped along the ground. They extended delicate arms to lift plastic wrappers and fallen leaves, transforming the waste instantly into useful material. A street sweeper, no, not a person, but a sleek silver automaton, glided silently by, polishing the pavement to a glassy sheen.
Children played on immaculate sidewalks. A woman dropped a cup by accident, before she would catch the cup, the drone caught it. The woman thanks the drone and extends her hand to grab the cup. The drone’s speaker utters, ‘As you have unintentionally dropped it and feels sorry for it. I will dispose the waste in road. A drone whisked it away. The air seemed lighter, cleaner. The whole scene pulsed with quiet efficiency and care.
Ravi’s chest tightened. This wasn’t just a future, it was a possibility. A world where every careless toss didn’t scar the earth. Behind him, the ordinary street he knew seemed darker, dirtier. He glanced back at the glowing door. Its pull was almost magnetic.
Did he dare to step through and explore? Or should he stay in his world and walk ahead, pretending this glimpse had never happened?
The door creaked softly, like an invitation or a warning. Ravi felt, while looking through the door, it is intersting, it will be more to interesting to step inside and look. But he felt little hesitant.
What would you do if you were Ravi? Enter the glowing door to explore the future. or Walk ahead and leave the vision behind.
